I'm really excited about this film, especially since Mike Dougherty is at the helm.

hmmmmm. i see Skull Island was mentioned. that movie was kinda a disappointment for me. it certainly wasn't the actors. great group. but, they weren't written too well & i felt like they were all held down from really sparkling. Sam Jackson & John Goodman can ALWAYS turn a movie around because they're such grand actors but this movie felt kinda lifeless & really held them down. But, like i always say, give me good godzilla, bad godzilla, i don't care!!!! & that goes for kong & all the other GIANT monsters too.
i am SO excited about Mothra showing up!!!! Gahhhhhhh...i love his keepers, "the twin beauties" SO much, they have sucha special place in my heart...<33333333
i'm also excited about Mike D. but, i gotta say. i bet Rob Zombie would also make one hella fine Giant Monster film. he's got that warm dirty homey grit down to a T. & i hope one day he tries his hand at one. that dude really gets exploitation & the 70's so well!!!
Oh & a BIG BIG Thank You goes to Guillermo Del Torro for paving the way for all these others dudes to try their hands at the Giant Monsters. because of him, we have Godzilla, Skull Island etc. i am sooooooooooo looking forward to the new Pacific Rim film, sadly Guillermo has passed up directing it.
After seeing Trick or Treat and Krampus, I can't wait to see what he does with Godzilla.
Girl6, I would love to see Rob Zombie do a Giant Monster movie. We know Mr. Zombie loves his old horror movies and monster movies. Hell, he's got a big room FULL of movies like these.
Hey Jay...Carl told me that Rob Z. was really psyched to do his version of The Blob, but, sadly, he has bowed out. something about he was SO tired of ALL the grief he is STILL receiving over making the Halloween films. apparently he was pretty bummed over making that decision too. think he's a little heartbroken. so, his heart probably wouldn't be into making a GIANT monster movie. i like Rob an awful lot. i always enjoy listening to his commentaries on his films. he's a very serious guy & a hard worker too. i have a bunch of respect for him. he's so together. he's a Parson's School (NYC..fashion/design) graduate. Parson's is a BIG deal. he really has quite the eye for design & has truly cultivated his own unique signature both in his music & the film industry. i'm STILL bummed over his Broad Street Bullies NOT being made.
Love be Godzilla and all, but uh.... what happened to Trick R Treat 2?
Adam, I think TrT2 is still in the works. Dougherty was offered this film, and TrT2 was still in pre-production, so it was a smart move for him to take this gig. It will definitely give him more exposure to the mainstream, which in turn will help to get his pet projects made. I'm just thrilled that we are getting a great director for the next Godzilla! Dougherty has proven he has the chops to make a movie that is fun, while also delivering the scares.
