Those late 70s / early 80s era Ben Cooper, Inc. vinyl and plastic monstrosities were truly awful in almost every way, but I have nothing but the fondest recollection of them.
You couldn't see, you couldn't breathe, and there will never be anything remotely comfortable about a vinyl smock, but somehow, you still couldn't wait to get into it?
exactly. it was like putting on the most amazing and uncomfortable suit of armor, with the shortest shelf life EVER...as you knew the smock would rip soon and the rubber band strap would snap before the night was out.
i do! haha We used to keep all of these plastic and rubber masks in a box in the attic, and every year when we would open it to get decorations out, that chemical smell would float out.
That smock is the bomb! I miss those old costumes....some of them were pretty neat with the pattern or print the used. Wondering who the character on the left is. I can tell it's a cat...right?

the black gloves that me and my bro are wearing? We're like Italian murderers.
How could something so terrible be so wonderful?

Yup. That's my brother as a cat. He's holding his tail in his black-gloved murderous hand.
