Listening to Spotify radio and I look down to see what song is playing due to its dark coolness and I see "The Builders" by Sabled Sun. Goes really well with their vibe I think.

Here's to those nights where you'd wake up at three in the morning a few nights in a row and worry it might have something to do with the Devil...

The Great Old One
The Thing of the idols, the green, sticky spawn of the stars, had awaked to claim his own. The stars were right again, and what an age-old cult had failed to do by design, a band of innocent sailors had done by accident. After vigintillions of years great Cthulhu was loose again, and ravening for delight.

Blight
I shook the chilly dew;
The thin boughs locked behind me
That sprang to let me through;
The blossoms slept,—I sought a place
Where nothing lovely grew.

Trailer: We Have A Ghost
This feels like something that would have been made in the 80s. Really hoping it delivers that kind of Spielbergian charm.

Cold Blue
The Town Witch
Unfriendly and unfriended lived the crone
Upon the common in her hut, alone,
Past which but seldom any villager fared.
Some said she was a witch and rode, wild-haired,
To devils’ revels: on her hearth’s rough stone
A fiend sat ever with gaunt eyes that shone
A shaggy hound whose fangs at all were bared.
So one day, when a neighbour’s cow had died
And some one’s infant sickened, good men shut
The crone in prison: dragged to court and tried:
Then hung her for a witch and burnt her hut.
Days after, on her grave, all skin and bones
They found the dog, and him they killed with stones.

Trailer: Scream VI
The Black Cat
With my aversion to this cat, however, its partiality for myself seemed to increase. It followed my footsteps with a pertinacity which it would be difficult to make the reader comprehend. Whenever I sat, it would crouch beneath my chair, or spring upon my knees, covering me with its loathsome caresses. If I arose to walk it would get between my feet and thus nearly throw me down, or, fastening its long and sharp claws in my dress, clamber, in this manner, to my breast. At such times, although I longed to destroy it with a blow, I was yet withheld from so doing, partly by a memory of my former crime, but chiefly -- let me confess it at once -- by absolute dread of the beast.

13
I never really got into the Friday the 13th films. Jason Voorhees, to me, always seemed like a second-class Horror Icon. I found a disturbing amount of pleasure and watched with great relish as Freddy Krueger bested him throughout Freddy vs Jason (I'm still in the camp that thinks Freddy won that War, by the way). I recall finally sitting down to watch the first few hockey-masked killer films back in the early 90s and was shocked to find the goalie missing from the first one. Then you get to the second film and you see that Jason is sporting a sack over his head with one eye hole. Part III reveals the Jason most people know, and I think that's where I stopped watching way back when.
I give Freddy vs Jason a lot of credit for pulling off that monster showdown. And I also credit it for making Jason a legit horror figure in my brain. Odd to think it was made 20 years ago.
