It's always hard to tell what's in store from the trailer (sometimes it's spot-on, and others totally misleading), but this didn't really give me 'Evil Dead' vibes.

However, it seems that it was initially planned as an HBO Max exclusive, but Warner Bros. opted for a theatrical release instead...given how aggressive they've been giving things the proverbial axe of late, maybe that's an encouraging sign?

Definitely felt too polished and slick to feel like the Evil Dead that I know, but I was oddly optimistic when I saw this trailer. I didn't know that about the theatrical release, so here's hoping it's a wonderful sign and they breathe some life into this franchise. I'm cool with an anthology series in the same universe.

I'm not sure how you can just bring the Deadites from a cabin out in the middle of nowhere to an apartment building in the city.
Who/what brought the book of the dead with them? To New York City, really.
I really like the reboot that they did a few years ago, but this just looks like a cash grab to me. I'll still go and see it though.

Yeah, I was curious how this book ends up in NY.
But Evil finds a way. haha
