The Gift Of Pine

Pinecones, that is.  Edible mini pinecones.  It's a thing.  I received a jar from my brother for Christmas.

As a man who has lamented that the world should offer pine flavored ice cream, it's pretty exciting to discover that a human being won't die from eating pinecones.  And they taste just like you'd imagine:  like tiny, sweet pinecones.

Really perfect for a cheese board.

Right?
I've eaten a ton of them and have had no ill side effects or blockage.

There was an old guy in TV commercials many years ago who asked,"Have you ever eaten a pine tree?".
His name was Euell Gibbons, a well-known naturist and woodsman. I bet he knew about eating pinecones.
I think I just dated myself, and not in a good way lol!

That look good. Gonna have to look in this. I live near large pine forests.

Wow, really?! I have a TON of tiny pinecones from the redwood tree in our backyard. (you'd be surprised. redwood pinecones aren't any bigger than grapes) Were the ones you ate crunchy? Or was it a syrup they were soaked in to soften them up. I would be game to try it. I always get the annual Anchor Steam Christmas Ale precisely because it tastes like drinking a pine tree. Now I'm going to look for pinecone recipes!
