On the way back from our recent trip to Pittsburgh, we stopped in Altoona, Pennsylvania to visit Castle Halloween. I've never seen so much Halloween in one place. So many rooms filled with vintage Halloween memorabilia and decorations of every kind imaginable. Photos of the interior of this beautiful brick home are hard to come by since there's a one-photo-per-person limit, but I think I might have been snapping away secretly so I could promote this magical place to anyone who reads this entry.
It's by appointment only, so if you're ever in the area and want to visit, make sure you call first.

Below are some bootlegged photos of this incredible museum, and they only show a fraction of what's inside...

Some of that must be from the collection of Chris J. Russell and the Halloween Queen (Pamela Apkarian-Russell). The crepe witch's costume is shown on page 41 of Stuart Schneider's "Halloween in America: A Collector's Guide with Prices" (1995).
Glad we finally got to go together <3
Me too! 🖤🖤🖤
That place is awesome, I could spend hours in there if they allowed it. That mirror and the ferris wheel are the standouts IMO.
Oh MAN. I want that art nouveau skeleton fireplace!! Gorgeous. So glad y'all got to visit. I've read about this collection but have never been.
So apparently they forced me to recreate a blogger name in order to post.So strange. This museum looks INCREDIBLE. So jealous. Pretty sure I would slip a blow mold into my pocket.
My favorite piece in there!
I would report the theft.
What a great collection - I need that mantel!
Amazing collection in an amazing old house. If I went to that area I'd definitely check it out.
