Watcher
Was thinking about that photo of the mossy trail through the woods, and how weird and creepy it would be if that was a part of a haunted attraction (though safer and not as lawsuit-inducing). And instead of actors in the woods interacting with patrons and trying to point-blank scare them, what if they all kept their distance. Dark figures moving slowly through the woods, keeping pace with the viewers, and allowing themselves to be seen, but just in the shadows, and in silence. In particular, ahead of each group of visitors would be a cloaked figure, about twenty or thirty yards away. Alone. And with a costume similar to a Reaper - but not as obvious. But the catch would be that the costume would be reversed, made to look like it was facing the patrons. In reality, it would be an actor slowly walking ahead of each group, walking in the same direction, with a mask/custom-made costume attached to his or her back. Always looking like a figure slowly floating ahead of them, and facing them. But always moving away from them.
In the darkness, I'd imagine that would be a really unnerving effect.

When the Count saw my face, his eyes blazed with a sort of demonaic fury, and he suddenly made a grab at my throat. I drew away, and his hand touched the string of beads which held the crucifix. It made an instant change in him, for the fury passed so quickly that I could hardly believe that it was ever there.

Black And Orange

I couldn't resist. At first I was thinking that they were kinda like neat Mexican Day of the Dead candles. Then I saw the tag for the orange one - "Drips black wax!" Then I saw the tag for the black one - "Drips orange wax!"
Then I knew I had to have them.

1. Fog Chillers will make awesome ground-hugging fog.
2. That's about it.
Thing
I dunno, it's like this: thousands of years ago this spaceship crashes, and this thing, whatever it is, jumps out, or crawls out, and gets entombed in the ice... They dig it up, they cart it back to their base. Somehow it gets thawed, it wakes up, probably not the best of moods...

Pale Things Drifting
It was one of those things they keep in a jar in the tent of a sideshow on the outskirts of a little, drowsy town. One of those pale things drifting in alcohol plasma, forever dreaming and circling, with its peeled, dead eyes staring at you and never seeing you.

Cheesecloth and yellow food coloring add the perfect finishing touch to this specimen (a grow skeleton). Looks exactly like old flesh which has sloughed off into its silent liquid tomb.
Thanks, Mike. This pic is awesome. It made me instantly want to buy a grow ghost and stick it in a jar with green dye and strips of thin plastic sheeting.

We've all heard of them, but I can't say I've ever really watched or read much about Church Hell Houses. This documentary looks really interesting. In a fun way. In a "I can't believe I'm seeing what I'm seeing" way.

Barlow
I was pretty young when Salem's Lot premiered on television back in 1979, but my parents were watching it, and so they let me watch it. Horror didn't register on their parental guidance meter (not much does). So they had no idea what a hairless vampire with glowing eyes and a floating kid outside a bedroom window would do to their young son. It was bad news.

My latest obsession, the score to The Mothman Prophecies by Tomandandy.
Absolutely perfect, and very unnerving. I could see putting this in as a soundscape on Halloween night. It's THAT cool.
