Ahhh, the Haunted Mansion! This ride made such an impression on my mind as a kid...contributing to my obsession with all things spooky! While others expressed fright at the idea of a ghost following you home, I loved it! I used to imagine he was hanging out with me, ready to play pranks on those who made my life difficult!
Yeah...I was a warped kid!
I too was so influenced by the HM. I must have been 5-6 when my mom took me. I loved it so much, the magic, the unknown....I remember riding in a cart, looking in the mirror and seeing a ghost seated between her and I. When I looked next to me and it wasn't there, I was hooked forever more....
I'll be visiting Disneyland next week, with many rides through the lovely Haunted Mansion. I get new ideas every time I go in there. Do you see the "hidden Mickey" in this pic?
My favorite part of this ride! During Christmas when they turn it all into The Nightmare Before Christmas version (which SUCKS! *ducks and hides*) they pump Gingerbread scent during this portion as she no longer blows out cake candles but is building a huge, twisted gingerbread house.
Hee hee, hidden Mickey...I found it....
