Wow. That's an impressive collection of all things H3. I love the ones with Michael Myers on the cover. Bait and switch much??
On a side note, there's a Cinema Wasteland horror convention in Cleveland the last weekend in September. One of the scheduled guests is Tom Adkins!! ALL over that one!!

I don't understand how the Swedish VHS cover has H6 artwork on it? They must have been about 13 years late with their release!

too bad the whole anthology idea didn't work out. i wonder how that route woulda gone with a new villain introduced in each movie. H3 is sucha gross horrifying little movie, certain parts really take my breath away, like in a panicky way. Wonderful Movie!!!
Oh & it's cool to check out different releases of cover art on books too. sooooo neat to see stephen king faves from ALL over the world. Universal Love!!!
Yess!! girl6 I used to collect all things Lassie. (ok I always pined for farm life, right down to the collie) But the different art work and covers for the same story was always fascinating to me. I studied all the current artist renditions of that dog and tried to mimic them in my own art work (I think I started around age 8). Sorta sad now...very few young people even know who Lassie is.
Autumleaf..i am SO into pkg art. i have a few different issues of King's Pet Cemetery, i just love looking at them!!! i have a bunch of old Ray Bradbury paperbacks too. dandelion wine..the illustrated man..gahhhhh, it's like you said, different art work for the same story is fascinating!!! i always figured you were an artist.<333 Lassie is iconic. right up there with like say, Dracula, Frankenstein etc. & so everrrrryone should know who Lassie is. but, i hear ya, should & do are two very different things. we are going to a kiddie family bday party tomorrow (God help us!!!...hahaha) & i am going to grill the little ones about Lassie & see what i get.: D i really hope to see your artwork someday. i bet it's LOVELY!!. : )
Oh & Autumnleaf...i have an author's name for you. Daphne du Maurier..1907-1989. Guillermo Del Torro says, her writings were the inspiration & influences for Crimson Peak!!! she also wrote, My Cousin Rachel, which is currently in theatres now. she also wrote Jamaica Inn & Rebecca which Hitchcock borrowed from. her favourite movie adaption was of her novel, "Don't look now/after midnight". i think you would LOVE the movie version..."Don't look now", starring Donald Sutherland & Julie Christie. the Perfect Ghost Story. maybe, you know all about Daphne du Naurier, but i didn't want to take the chance of you missing out on her, just in case you didn't. : )

Girl6, I was not aware of Daphne du Maurier. But somehow I'm not surprised at her illusive genius. It seems women of the Victorian and surrounding eras frequently created their art under male pen names or simply stayed in the background. I will enjoy looking up the films you mentioned....thank you for that! I certainly would not want to miss out on her.
I too love looking at all the art associated with our favorite stories and films. And some of the fan art and storytelling following a film is just AMAZing....even better than the stuff that was released with it.

Rot, thanks for sharing the multiple incarnations of H3 art. That installment of the Halloween series is by far my favorite. I don't think I've even seen most of the others(ok maybe the first one) which I guess makes me not much of a 'Halloween' film fan. But I can say that my favorite part of H3 is curfew when someone whisks their orange kitten in the door to keep him safe. I know that would be first on my agenda in those circumstances. :)
