Halloween Sunrise

Going to be a little slow getting photos up on the blog.  Savoring the lingering feelings of true Halloween magic here.  My co-Haunter Theo and I will be deconstructing CHURCH and going through the amazing photos and videos he shot.

The phrase I couldn't have done it without him seems ludicrously understated here.

Here are just a few of his incredible photos.  It's hard to explain the joy of watching a sunrise on Halloween morning as it passes through the rotting beams of an old semi-abandoned church in the woods...

I feel this is a commentary on the decay in religion. I love it! Perhaps you did not intend such but as art, I feel I can interpret it as I see it. Lovely haunt this year.

Happy day after my spooky friend! I hope our night was filled with astonished visitors and hushed gasps of wonder. We Haunters can all exhale now...

Thanks, everyone!

Autumnleaf, that year the sun rose behind the strawman was the year that planted the seed that a sunrise could be really important in a future haunt...so when I came up with the CHURCH theme, and imagined the cross cut-out, we knew we had to get up early for a series of shots...and were praying the sun would be visible and the sky relatively clear...and it was.
It was amazing to watch in person as there are no tricks with the camera here....we were all laughing and kinda gasping at the beams of light coming through. A really wonderful moment knowing that some neat shots were getting captured. Theo is the most incredible photographer. I can't explain the comfort I had knowing this collaboration was being documented by this insanely talented guy. Video was shot as well! : )

These are pretty amazing. It's not the easiest thing to deliver new and fresh haunt imagery yearly but you definitely deliver!
Congrats! Beautiful witch kings to guard the haunted chapels..
We barely escaped the wrath of the weather goods at Spooky Franklin but all in all it was a decent year. Nothing like this of course.. Great stuff!
