Hmmm...I think it may be the studios that need an exorcism.
Or at the very least, an intervention.
I try to be somewhat charitable, and understand that in order for the studios and filmmakers to make money (and, consequently, be able to make other types of films) they have to reduce risk and, to some degree, rely on 'known quantities', franchises, algorithms, etc.
However, they sure seem to be making that outlook more and more difficult to maintain, and I am definitely becoming more cynical.
They tried to warn everyone by putting the Blumhouse logo at the beginning… But seriously, watch Talk To Me instead of this! If you need that Exorcist vibe, put on the original.

That looks very interesting, I'll have to check it out.
Sigh. Save your money.
It'll be VOD in a month or less....

It floors me - the lack of original ideas.
"Talk to me" opens this weekend.
Now that seems interesting, to me anyways.
Same! Very curious about that one
I heard it tanked at test screenings in May the audience hated it no one thought it was scary at all.
I haven't laughed that hard at a trailer in a while.
