Willow Cove Halloween 2022

Always Old School Halloween charm from Willow Cove.  And one of the neatest scarecrows around.

Simulacrum

Another fine scarecrow by fellow scarecrow-maker Willow Cove.  Hanging the gloves like that is really pretty neat.  The way they'd move in the wind would be really disturbing at night.

Willow Cove Manor: The Etsy Shoppe

Got this amazing pumpkin from Willow Cove's shop and it is stellar in person.  Has such a wonderful vintage feel to it, like something you'd find in a roadside antique store.

The Hessian

Another of his sources of fearful pleasure was to pass long winter evenings with the old Dutch wives, as they sat spinning by the fire, with a row of apples roasting and spluttering along the hearth, and listen to their marvellous tales of ghosts and goblins, and haunted fields, and haunted brooks, and haunted bridges, and haunted houses, and particularly of the headless horseman, or Galloping Hessian of the Hollow, as they sometimes called him.

It's The Little Things

Another cool mini scarecrow from Willow Cove.

This might as well be up on a nine-foot-tall post.
Feels life-sized.

Willow Cove Haunt 2018: Always Haunt Alone

A yard haunter who invited his new creepy neighbor to help him with the haunt and ended up being a part of it. A haunt about a vampire who turned a haunter into a haunt.

I find this theme especially enjoyable considering our CHURCH collaboration Haunt this year!  What a great back story on this one.

Grandpa's Pants Scarecrow

One of the coolest things I've seen to date...
A miniature scarecrow (that doesn't look small at all) done in the Haunted Air style.
Scarecrow and style by the talented Willow Cove Haunt.

Willow Cove Haunt Halloween 2017

31 October.—Still hurrying along. The day has come, and Godalming is sleeping. I am on watch. The morning is bitterly cold; the furnace heat is grateful, though we have heavy fur coats. As yet we have passed only a few open boats, but none of them had on board any box or package of anything like the size of the one we seek. The men were scared every time we turned our electric lamp on them, and fell on their knees and prayed.

Willow Cove Haunt: Beware Of Vampires

As we wound on our endless way, and the sun sank lower and lower behind us, the shadows of the evening began to creep round us. This was emphasized by the fact that the snowy mountain-top still held the sunset, and seemed to glow out with a delicate cool pink. Here and there we passed Cszeks and slovaks, all in picturesque attire, but I noticed that goitre was painfully prevalent. By the roadside were many crosses, and as we swept by, my companions all crossed themselves. Here and there was a peasant man or woman kneeling before a shrine, who did not even turn round as we approached, but seemed in the self-surrender of devotion to have neither eyes nor ears for the outer world. There were many things new to me. For instance, hay-ricks in the trees, and here and there very beautiful masses of weeping birch, their white stems shining like silver through the delicate green of the leaves.
