He Cast No Reflection In My Mirror
Lame casting news for the Fright Night remake - Colin Farrell as the vampire Jerry Dandrige.
Lord knows who will get to play Peter Vincent.
Though I'm having a hard time caring at this point.

Fantasy
I grew up seeing this man's art all around me. And I remember trying to sketch some of his beautiful curvy ladies.
It's the fantasy art of Frank Frazetta.
He passed away today at the age of 82.

Jack was active, good-natured and a general favorite; but his pumpkin head was likely to spoil with age, so in order to secure a good supply of heads he grew a big field of pumpkins and lived in the middle of it, his house being a huge pumpkin hollowed out. Whenever he needed a new head he picked a pumpkin, carved a face on it and stuck it upon the stake of his neck, throwing away the old head as of no further use.

Halloween MMX
An unconventional impulse has been festering since last Halloween regarding my plans for 2010. And I'm going to run with it. Which means my discussions of a yard haunt theme of The Ancients (or an Old School haunt) will be stored in my Halloween cache of ideas and saved for a later year.

Uncle Creepy's Pictorial Diary Of The Dead
I read this great entry by Dread Central's Uncle Creepy about his being cast as a zombie in the latest film by George A. Romero. Sounds like a pretty amazing experience.
I loved his excitement. So glad he documented his time spent working with Romero.
"Yeah, Steve, it's George. I've got this new thing happening, and I know that there's no possible way that I could cast you as part of the living, so how would you like to come up and be a zombie for me?"

From Beyond
Indescribable shapes both alive and otherwise were mixed in disgusting disarray, and close to every known thing were whole worlds of alien, unknown entities. It likewise seemed that all the known things entered into the composition of other unknown things, and vice versa. Foremost among the living objects were great inky, jellyish monstrosities which flabbily quivered in harmony with the vibrations from the machine. They were present in loathsome profusion, and I saw to my horror that they overlapped; that they were semi-fluid and capable of passing through one another and through what we know as solids. These things were never still, but seemed ever floating about with some malignant purpose. Sometimes they appeared to devour one another, the attacker launching itself at its victim and instantaneously obliterating the latter from sight.
