Neevenstein Manor

This is really terrific.  And they call that tree of ghosts The Suicide Tree.  Incredible.

Christmas Gift: Free Dark Ambient Album

From Cryo Chamber:

Continuing our yearly tradition, we picked some interesting releases this year from Cryo Chamber. Beginning with a track from the atmosphere dense Dead Melodies album Fabled Machines of Old, it also introduces some new projects like Skrika, Planet Supreme and Underwater Sleep Orchesta. The albums ends with a deep and moving track from Wordclock's long awaited new album A Greater Bliss.

Holiday Spirit Initiative: Black Christmas

My personal favorite Christmas film:  Black Christmas (1974).

Two Weeks

I just became painfully aware that Christmas is only two weeks away.  And I'm still just not feeling it.  A favorite watering hole closed last year and that totally would have helped with the Christmas Spirit (with spirits)...

I was lucky enough to have drinks there on its final night on the earth.

Some photos below of its glory days (best dranks in the world)... And their holiday dranks were totally primo.  Dranks, man.

The Clove Negroni should have been called 'The Krampus'...

Here's the Clove Negroni (i.e. The Krampus)

Still not ready for Christmas music?  Here's a nice alternative.

(I love that someone put winter storm sound effects to this score.)

Now Watching: It's Me, Billy: A Black Christmas Fan Film

Huge fan of Dave McRae here.  Also an enormous fan of the 1974 film Black Christmas.  I'm always so weary of fan films, but this guy made something that was exceptionally respectful to the source material, and it didn't detract from my beloved film at all.  It's Me, Billy is such a fun and incredibly well-made sequel.

Click below to watch (recommend watching the original film first, but it's definitely not required) ...
