I listen to many styles of music but country....but he was the only country music I would listen to once in a while. But I think this is the best song he did, the way he did it gave it a lot of personal feeling.

I actually find that some of Johnny Cash's covers of modern songs like Nine Inch Nails and Sound Garden (Rusty Cage) are great! Typically I listen to Slayer, Grinderman, Cop Shoot Cop or things like that...

A friend of mine worships Johnny Cash and he hates horror movies, but he rented the DAWN OF THE DEAD remake because he knew they used Cash's THE MAN COMES AROUND for the main title sequence. So we sat there and watched the intro about fifteen times.
It's such an amazing song. We were in a trance watching it over and over again. : )

I love Cash, and I REALLY dig the American albums he did with Rick Rubin (the last of which is hitting stores now). The covers are absolutely brilliant, and the original tunes are quite powerful. Cash is one of those artists that embodied what REAL country music was about (not the modern excuse for country that is coming out of Nashville). He sang about real human emotion and experience, and I think that's why he appeals to fans of other genres.
