I once had a furniture delivery where the guys unwrapped the chair's plastic and let it blow away. It was a huge piece of clear light plastic. It slowly floated away and across a field near the house. I figured I'd go collect it after the truck pulled away. They were only there ten minutes.
I looked across and it was gone. It must have slithered into a nearby patch of woods. It had started to get really windy, but I was surprised it didn't catch on any of the thorny bushes surrounding the trees.
Maybe I should have hunted for it. Maybe I subconsciously liked the idea it was going to be a tree ghost in some form [for eternity].
Maybe I'm a polluter.
