The neighbors seemed to really love it.
The entire block gets into Halloween...A huge house down the way had a stirring witch and a flying crank ghost...that's the guy I mentioned before who stopped when he saw me painting a prop (A Swamp Foetus).
We were definitely a hit with adults more so than children..and I totally get that. We're not exactly "fun" when it comes to the display. That's what's cool about this block - we have fun Halloween homes and a dark weird house up at the corner. : )
I had a fog machine behind the witch, with a long black plastic tube which came around along the side of the porch, under the sentinels. We had it filled with frozen water bottles, with a huge pile of ice at the furthest opening. Worked great to chill the fog. The ground was still cold and wet from the melted snow, so it worked even better than normal.
WOW! I love the way you have the sentinels turned in look at the porch. When somebody got up there, I bet they felt trapped and claustrophobic they watched them.
I am going to get me some moonflowers... Landscaping for Halloween ;)
I want to live in that magical world all the time. Anything is possible in that kind of setting.

I really like your technique with the fog chilling. What kind of black plastic tube? I am thinking that corrugated stuff they use in landscaping?

Yep. It's the solid corrugated tubing. Not the one with holes for irrigation. I sawed slits in it under the sentinels and near the fake fire pit. Even without frozen water bottles, the fog was getting chilled just by staying in the tube.
Great Pics! I like these day shots as much as the night ones, especially fond of the black & whites. I had success with using the black corrugated tubing this year too.

Hubs is far more eloquent with words than I am and would be much better at expressing how cool your creations always are. Suffice it to say.... awe inspiring, beautiful, amazing, stunning, and just plain awesome! Thank you for sharing yet another haunty season with us. :)
You are an inspiration. It's almost impossible to make a haunt look even better in daylight, but you sir have done it.
