Jack-O Traveler

After years of searching for a pumpkin ale/beer that appeals to me, I think I just found it, in the form of a shandy.  The Jack-O Traveler from the Traveler Beer Company.  It's light and spicy, and not too sweet, with a lot of lemony zest going on.  Has a really nice and nutty finish.

I highly recommend it for those who might always have high hopes for the seasonal pumpkin beers, but who are always a little disappointed with the offerings.

Jack-O Traveler is an alluring wheat beer illuminated by the tastes of fall. He strikes a perfect balance between bright refreshment and seasonal spice. Jack is brewed with fresh pumpkin, for a delicious dark-hued, Shandy-inspired beer.

How I haven't recommended this is beyond me. Our favorite for sure. Also if you can find Shlafly Pumpkin as well, also a best of the bunch.

I'll look for that one too.
Cool. Thanks!

Does East Coast have Bevmo? Could I find it there?

Love this beer! I also tried Block House Pumpkin Ale this year, and really enjoyed that - like drinking a slice of pumpkin pie :)

Been trying to get my hands on Shlafy for two years now. I'll pick up a six of Traveler tomorrow, give it a try. My favorites are Stevens Point Whole Hog and Dogfish Head.

My personal favorite - Ichabod Pumpkin Ale by New Holland Brewing. By far, the best for me. It's everything you'd think a pumpkin ale should be in your imagination...subtle fall spices that don't punch you in the face or make you question, "Should I really serve this at my party?" I've tried a dozen kinds and have tried to make a few (being a home brewer) and I keep coming back to it year after year. Perfection. Always a hit.

I've had quite a few pumpkin beers that I like. This past week on vacation (in North Carolina) I had Catawba Brewing Company's Kin Don's Pumpkin Ale which comes in cans. I believe it's only available in NC, but I could be wrong. I'm taking a 6 pack back up to Detroit, definitely worth trying if you can get your hands on it!

Shipyard's Pumpkinhead (Portland, Me)was my first intro to 'eastern' pumpkin brews. Love it! We had a taste test of about 6 different offerings....Blue Moon won! Go figure. And I can get that here on the left coast.

I'd like to find the Jacko-Traveler just to get that Awesome carton! Great design! Of course the brew wouldn't go to waste.

Picked up a six today along with Whole Hog, praise the Halloween gods, probably grab a case of the Jack-O in the coming weeks for a big family party in early October. If you can't find it give me a shout and I'll send you the carton, AutumnLeaf. Perhaps I'll leave a couple in there for you. :)

Try Leinenkugel's "Harvest Patch Shandy". Came out last year in sampler packs. This year it's in full production. In my opinion it's Halloween in a bottle. It has Pumpkin, spice, clove and just a dab of delicious! Even if it didn't contain alcohol I would drink it anyway. I was drinking Elysian Night Owl but this has forever taken its place. Definitely worth the taste test.

Yessss, one of the best pumpkin beers I've had! I think the lemony notes are what make it exceptional.
