Haunt Video

So apparently a short video was found after a deranged yard haunter was taken into custody.

I wanted to thank Simon from Villa 9 studios.  Without his help this video would not have existed so quickly.  In addition to being a talented composer, he's been an amazing technical expert as well, and an all-around great guy.

You can listen to his amazing work here:

Quintessential Pumkin Rot! This could be your best haunt video. Great video, great post production work, great song selection and stunning props and layout. So happy you are not my neighbor, who the heck would want to see my yard haunt with THAT next door!

thanks, guys!

Nice! Was expecting Halloween at High Noon to be playing. I just kept imagining Ralphie looking through Higbee's department store window at the Christmas display and wondering where the Red Ryder carbin-action,two-hundred shot range model air rifle with a compass in the stock was! Gonna go have some Ovaltine, and shoot my eye out now!

I just also wanted to throw in there- absolutely the best way to start out Friday the 13th- thanks you Rot

Holy cow that was not what I expected. That was amazing! It is so cool to see the scarecrows in those pan shots. I am able to see so much detail you put into them. Great job!

Great music choice!!! Love it that it's not a studio cleaned up version of the song. As usual....fabulous video, Rot! It is such a treat to get to see those props in a video...so much more detail that you catch. Once again you have out done yourself.

Excellent video sir and well worth the wait. The music selection was perfect as well as the editing. Not much could have made this any better. Maybe some film grain and scratches with a couple jumps here and there to give it the effect of being shot on 8mm. But then that may have been cliche and would detract from all the awesome detail in those shots. Love love love it.

Thanks!
Was fun making it.

AMAZING!!! Love this peek into your haunt. The video quality is great too...so clear, and the images have a lot of depth. It really feels like this video allows us to step into the world you made!! Thank you for that! =D

That's a densely populated haunt this year. Love the music...super creepy!

Thanks!
That row of corn blocking the street worked magic. Made everything feel contained and way more abundant.

Really great video. Like others said, you can really see the detail in your props.

And the choice of music was a shock, BUT added and showed how truly psychotic this killer was........or still is????

Man, the music with the scratchy-record quality to it, with the black and white video. Loved it!

Interesting juxtaposition with the light hearted music and creepy skeles.

Wow...
You totally just blew me away with that one.
Stunning and perfect choice of music, depth and detail so perfectly rendered that I almost felt as if I was right there at 1113 Pumpkinrot Lane. Maybe some day...😁

Love the opening and closing titles, spared no expense...

Really, really dig it, awesome job, another amazing year!

I watched it on my phone earlier and it looked good. I just went to check it on my computer and it won't load. You might be getting a ton of hits is my guess. Nice job.

You UNGodly Warlock!!!. : D
i really FELT the terror, on all the faces of those poor tortured souls. : (
that's Wonderful!!!...remember the scene near the beginning of "Jeepers Creepers".. where Darry is down in the pit of the old abandoned church & he sees all the dead bodies of the Creepers victims, sewed together like a death quilt, covering the walls? well, that scene WAS & IS Soooooo terrifying for me to watch!!!!. you can feel the dread of your heart spilling down into your shoes...SO Scary!!!!. Just like YOUR Haunt!!!

& that song....Perfect Choice.
once again, "Jeepers Creepers" came to mind. made me think of the Creepers tune.."Hush Hush Hush, Here Comes the Bogeyman" sung by the great Henry Hall. Omg...SO beautiful & dreadful when paired with the images.. Like YOUR Haunt!!!

Great Stuff Homie & Bean!!!.
Love your October Country, guys!!..<3

huge thanks, girl6 : )
so glad you dug it so much.
I love that scene in Jeepers as well.

dude...i just showed this to Carl.
& he said, 'Oh my god, it's a MOST ghastly holocaust!!!..<33333

& i just noticed something else...the close-ups, of the jack faces, paired with the tune adds to the horror. it's like some of them are even laughing at us (the viewers) for being scared.

the contrast I was looking for : )

Special stuff! I see you figured out the Premiere too.
I wondered if the cornstalks blocked a road or something. I'm sure the neighbors wonder about your crawl space!
Great job!

Unknown said...

Do you have a local farmer who lets you into his field to get the cornstalks? I got some for my haunt but felt like I was stealing.

Rot said...

oh how i wish.
I had to buy every bunch of corn....thankfully there's a farm that sells them for 3.25 each, but that adds up very quickly... and it's a long drive...so I made four trips.

Rania said...

Oh Rot and Bean that was just perfect! The music, the color, the pan, the credits, the crows, the pumpkin faces,...... Just perfect.

Wow! Brilliant work! Everything about it, from the great picture quality, the sheer amount of detail, and of course the music choice, definitely your best video yet!
