John Carpenter Live

An amazing night last night watching Mr. Carpenter perform songs from his film career and his latest albums.  Absolutely mesmerizing and surreal being in an audience and feeling the music vibrate the seats.  Such a fun concert.

He ended the night with the below track.  Turn it up as loud as it can go without wrecking your speakers...then picture it louder and clearer.  Crazy.

WOW. I bet it was a wonderful experience to see and hear him in person.

Music is a great thing. Music moves us, and to see our favorite musician playing that music live, creates a total different feeling.

He did some incredible music from THE FOG... as fog machines released clouds of fog... i think that's what heaven might be like.

Wow! So cool! I bet the audience was besides themselves. One video of him playing The Thing in Oakland had everyone cheering when practical effects were shown on the screen.

yeah..the crowd was great. He must have felt the love.

It was amazing seeing scenes from his films as the music pounded through your chest. THEY LIVE, THE FOG, THE THING, PRINCE OF DARKNESS, PRECINCT 13, BIG TROUBLE IN LITTLE CHINA... incredible to hear it all live.

Checking in after the show in Pittsburgh....completely amazing. Having Tom Atkins in the audience about 20 feet away from me made it even more surreal!!

Holy hell...Atkins in the audience would have been mind-blowing.

That show was great. I loved when the whole band put on sunglasses for They Live. And hey I got to meet girl6 and she was even cooler in person! ;)

He came out afterwards and was signing autographs by his tour bus, I didnt have anything to sign but I got to shake his hand and thank him for making my childhood so awesome. :)

man!!!! when they opened with escape from new york, i got the thrills & chills. OMG..that amped up bass!!!!..it was so heavy, i felt it's beating SO deep, like it was playing in my heart & seeing snake plissken stumblling down the hallway on the big screen as JC banged away was almost too much for me!!! snaaaaaaaake & johnny in the same room at the same time!!! Purrrrfect opening!!! awwwww man....i could go on & on cause seriously, i got the chills & thrills with every tune!!

&&&&&& then THERE"S Hallowaltz!!!! there he was, my BRAIN (hahaha!!) DE Palma loving blog buddy & Horror Photographer Extraordinaire. sucha a super cool dude with beautiful soulful eyes!! (don't be embarrassed Hallowaltz..hahaha) Sooooooooo exciting to be with him, Carl & JC...Magical!!!

p.s...ohhh!!!! & JC doing that little stomp & shuffle..HAHAHAHAHA!!!...he's sooooo BADASS...i LOVE YOU JC..<3

sorry to hear about that stuff, girl6

and I agree...seeing JC was energizing.
And seeing him so happy and relaxed and having a lot of fun up there was wonderful. Especially since he's seemed so grumpy in recent interviews.

ugggh man. i got so excited over the bass line in assault on precinct 13 (especially hearing it live) mixed in with how crazy seeing snake made me, soooooo i oopsed on that one. hahahha. it's hard to solidly commit to just one tune/video from the night cause it was ALL so perfect.

when i saw the goblin boys live..then fabio frizzi..i honestly prayed that JC would follow in their footsteps & do a show of his own. so this happening really blew me away. JC IS the icing to my giallo cake. & i MUST say this..as great as goblin were/are live, fabio frizzi's band are stone cold champs. that dude & his band are amazing!! they are mos def Beyond..The Beyond. man that tune tho!!!

i think the fact that JC doesn't play games & says exactly what's on his mind must have made dealing with the whole movie biz nonsense, painfully boorish for him at times. he's such a straight from the hip shooter & here he is trying to deal with liars, cheaters, users, dirty rat biters, people who anything nice they do for you has an ulterior motive to only further themselves. it must also be hard to constantly be judged by people who don't know jack squat. one day you're loved, then you're not. he's a big person for being so honest, for seeing how things really are & NOT letting people shit ALL over him, cause they will if you let em. he's moved on, i think he's (semi) retired now from the whole movie making scene. WHEN..he said.."i love horror movies & they will live Forever" live at the concert i LOVED him EVEN more. i strive to be like him!!!! minus all the genius baggage mind you..hahahahha. JC's been screwed over by what he loves the most..Movies!! he's always be a Golden God to me. : )

Oh & when he gave that BIG (live on saturday) shout out to Ennio Morricone i was in Bravo la la land. One champ sending love to another champ. i always think of that one Halloween at High Noon track now too. :)

Hey Hallowaltz..definitely man!!! & when Fantastic Planet (the Criterion) arrived in the mail on Monday (even the NEW cover art is super cool) totally totally thought of you!!..<333
