In many ways I dig this film more than the original.
It's a super fave in this house.
From their Facebook page:
You’ve heard the rumors for months…and they’re all true! William Peter Blatty’s cult favorite THE EXORCIST III will be bearing its cross on a 2-disc Collector’s Edition Blu-ray set from us on October 25th. Extras (of which there are tons) are underway and will be announced at a date in Late Summer / Early Fall. The newly-designed front-facing artwork from Joel Robinson you see here is final (not pictured is the reverse wrap image which will showcase the original theatrical
poster art.) Early pre-order now directly from us and receive a free
18″ x 24″ poster of the new art (while supplies last) plus early
shipping! We know that the biggest question you might have is: Will
there be a “Director’s Cut” of the film? The answer is yes—but with some
caveats. We are working on putting together a version that will be
close to Blatty’s original script using a mixture of various film and video tape sources that we have been provided with. This is still a work in progress and we will update you with more details at the time we announce the full list of
bonus materials.

One of our favorites. Brad Dourif blew me away, and the jump scare is heart-stopping.
agreed.
amazing film. Even with the tacked on exorcist at the end...which I'm hoping isn't a part of the director's cut.
Definitely more genre-desirable than II. And Brad Dourif carries it!
Oh man...I LOVE the idea of a true Director's Cut that skews closer to Blatty's script. Glad this will finally see the light of day!
Just one thing.. Don't wander around the hospital late at night, OK?
Oh this movie!!!
sooooo good. general patton & bradley own it!!!! they are SO awesome together. georgie plays the straight man to bradley's nut ball & it's brilliant cause the more self contained george s. plays it the more bradley ticks away. making them both look tremendous. i think that's what having a good acting partner is all about, riffin off of each other. : )
