Something about this display seems so organic and disturbing. Simply amazing.

Just now caught a glimpse of the arms on these ladies, cannot wait to see detailed pics of this haunt! I wasn't quite sure what to expect...but it's instantly become one of my favorites.

Completely unrelated...those candles are amazing, it is...Halloween!

i once saw an old RPPC where the witches were little kids in costume. they actually wore like these old brown jute sacks pulled over their heads as masks, with singed holes for the eyes. & planted near them, was the sweetest jack, crow i ever saw. his head was a rusty old paint can & his body was a shabby broom stick handle. it was the most magical Halloween pic i have ever seen & this totally reminded me of that pic!!! i think breathing life into old household scraps to make costumes or props is a dying art form these days. so much is purchased ready made now & honestly..it's so crappy looking too in all of it's perfect & shiny newness.

Happy All Souls Day!!!

just think once upon a time...people dressed up as Saints to celebrate the BIG day. how cool would it be, to see someone dressed up as San Miguel, wearing armor ready to fight the Devil. or San Jorge ready to slay a dragon. or San Lucia (she is the light) walking around with her eyes on a plate!!! ALL gone. no more. sigh.

The photo itself is awesome! Such clear rustically-carved pumpkins in front of smoky, dreamy witches. The barrel is a great touch! But one wonders....what are they boiling in that cauldron?

Thanks!

Autumnleaf...those are real turnips in that kettle.

RPPC is an abbreviation for real photo postcard. photographers would print an actual photo directly onto a postcard. it was a BIG deal way back in the day.

yeah, i shoulda bought that photo as soon as i saw it. when i went back later it was gone. i always look for it online, hoping that maybe someone took a pic of it at one point & posted it to share or maybe to sell reprints. never saw anything like it again. it was the real deal.
