I love the old stuff and not just because I’m older. It just has a more authentic feel.

I agree, as soon as you see an animatronic prop in front of someone's house, you immediately know it's fake. All it means is that they were willing to spend the money to buy something. It's not the same as building your own stuff. I don't see how it can mean as much as it does when you create your own props. If I want something that's supposed to move, even just a little, I use a real person in costume.
You get a much better response, your witches are always awesome.

I respectfully disagree about the meaning of such a thing to someone who uses animatronic store-bought props. A good friend of mine often says "there's no bad Halloween," and I completely agree with her. There's room for all of it. And it suits the homeowner's personal artistic abilities most likely (since most people can't make their own), but it definitely doesn't mean they don't love the High Holiday like those of us who build our own props. I personally LOVE animatronics. And the house down the block uses a bunch and I assure you that trick-or-treaters WORSHIP that guy and barely notice my static props. So it's just one big Halloween palette, that we're all a part of.

The Old Dusty Witch- Definitely needs to be a poem or story!

Agreed, there's room for everyone to do what makes them happy on our favorite night of the year. The reason I prefer to make my own is due to storage issues and the prices they charge for them.
I love to look at all of the stuff that GRANDIN ROAD has for sale, sometimes it give me ideas for my own stuff.
