That's dreadful. Glad it's simmering down for you! Still very humid here, but the temps dipped and it was incredibly welcome. We hit up a favorite restaurant last night, and as we sat out in the cooler air on their deck, we heard some noise from a field across the way and there were folks filling up a hot air balloon. It was the ultimate teaser for Fall. I never actually witnessed that before, so it was pretty neat. Despite my fears of being burned alive a thousand feet above the ground in a hot air balloon incident.
That sounds fantastic...there is most definitely a price to be paid for the privilege of not ever having to shovel snow.
One of those costs would absolutely be no legitimate notion of comfortable al fresco dining in July or August. Here, that would be closer to a punishment vs. an enjoyable way to spend an evening.
That witch you put together looks awesome wherever you put her. I'm definitely looking forward to Fall arriving as well. We've had a cooler than normal Summer so far in the PNW, but Halloween season is definitely the best time of year.
Even though we've seen 90's lately we really haven't had that much summer. Could have(and has been) a lot worse. I didn't put seeds in the ground until the end of June because it was so overcast. I'm looking back to 2020 at temps well over 100 and trying to keep pumpkin vines from frying. Nothing like that this year. And I dare say there is already a hint of autumn in the air in the evenings of late.

Standing on September's doorstep, words cannot convey how anxious I am to cross the threshold!
I never enjoy summer, but this one has been particularly brutal...the notion of the autumnal oasis just around the corner is sooooo appealing.
We won't see real relief (temperatures reliably in the 70s) until October, but at least this 90+ stuff should be coming to an end relatively soon.
I really don't want to rush Halloween's arrival, but I am definitely anxious to be able to feel its approach.
