I've never been inside either location, but at this point, I think it might be fair to say that the Vortex could be considered something of a minor landmark in the ATL...as you might imagine, they're kind of tough to miss.
The midtown location is not far from the Georgia Tech campus and is pretty close to some of the prime tourist spots, too. (Atlanta Botanical Gardens, Georgia Aquarium, World of Coca-Cola, etc.)
The other location is in the Little Five Points area; Atlanta's answer to a Bohemian district.
Which, also means that Vortex location is right in the mix for the annual bit of multi-day lunacy that is the "L5P Halloween Festival and Parade", so it is also a bit of an unofficial backdrop for those festivities.

Cool storefront - but as for their menu - gag!
awww...that's right!
Sorrryyyyy
Their menu looks awesome, I'd try the Southern Hot Mess. Chicken with sausage gravy is delicious.
