Dark Parlour Drop-Off

Had a great day in Lancaster county yesterday, dropping off the scarecrow for the upcoming art show at the Dark Parlour and hitting up some favorite hangouts.

Also got to try the rather barbaric-looking and very Halloween-dinner-appropriate Bone Marrow appetizer at the Conway Social Club (this place had better never close).

We started accumulating pumpkins for the Haunt too.  Fingers cross none of them go soft on us.

Feels like Autumn is really here.  Weather's been great too, and we even got a good photo shoot in on this first day of October (photos coming soon).

Weekend photos below...

On Shudder: The Fangoria Chainsaw Awards

Finally, an award show I'd wanna watch (and actually CAN watch thanks to having Shudder now)...

Alright, creeps... 'tis time! Well... almost time! We certainly hope you got those votes in because the FANGORIA Chainsaw Awards are coming to you Sunday, May 15th at 7pm ET, exclusively on Shudder! This year's festivities will be hosted by the one and only David Dastmalchian (The Suicide Squad, Dune) and David is bringing along some friends (and fiends) to celebrate some of our favorite horror accomplishments of the last year.

This year's festivities feature Dee Wallace, Joe Lo Truglio, Joe Dante, Tracie Thoms, Jim Cummings, Rachel True and the directing team known as Radio Silence (Ready or Not, Scream) among its presenters.

The Killing Season

If you dug Cropsey and Killer Legends, you're going to really appreciate A&E's The Killing Season.  Very chilling documentary-style series about the Long Island serial killer(s).  Click below for a great Fangoria interview with filmmakers Joshua Zeman and Rachel Mills.

Fangoria And Mr. Jones

As my fifteen minutes of fame draws to a close, it was fantastic to find a mention of my site and my work (and some photos) on Mr.Jones in the latest issue of Fangoria.

Deleted Scene

From Jeepers Creepers 2.
I've had this photo on the bulletin board next to my computer for years. I know it's from an old Fangoria magazine, but I can't remember the specifics of the scene. There's a Viking on the horse...and that looks like some Spanish armor on the right.

I've never seen it anywhere online, so I figured I'd post it.

It'd make a neat yard display.

Tom Atkins And Halloween 3

I don't know how I missed the news that Tom Atkins might be in the next Halloween film.
Here's what he said in a Fangoria interview back in March:

Beyond that, Atkins reveals that he, Lussier and Farmer plan to collaborate yet again—on the much-discussed HALLOWEEN III. The third entry in the new Michael Myers franchise begun by Rob Zombie hit a snag with the Weinstein Company a little while back, and the actor says, “They’re still looking for the money, but it’s pretty much set to go this December or early next year. Me and Scout Taylor-Compton are both going to do it.” And his role in the sequel? “Sort of like a Dr. Frankenstein—‘It’s aliiiiive!’ No, I’m a shrink in a mental hospital that Laurie [Taylor-Compton] is in with a bunch of other girls who have been up to no good. I’m trying to help them find a way to the light.”

No idea where H3 stands now. It seems they're having problems getting it off the ground. Though after the last two...

Mags And Candy

It's going to be a fun weekend.

Grabbed some magazines and candy while driving around today. Martha Stewart's Halloween issue is out. Some old and new stuff in there, and certainly worth having. And Blood Orange Bat Dots are pretty darn good.
