Haxan

A great way to watch scenes from the 1922 film Haxan,
set to music by Desiderii Marginis.

What a wonderfully wicked-looking silent film. I'll have to try and find a copy. I've known about it for years, but never seen anything from it. After seeing this, it looks promising!

Such a beautiful film.

Who loves the devil, who'll sing his song? Who will kiss the devil on his tongue?

WOW. That was insanely creepy! BEAUTIFUL images. I can't believe that was 1922...that was WAY creepier than most modern "scary" movies. I need to find this film. And the music was wonderful. Thank you so much for posting this, Rot! I might never have found it myself.

Whoa. I've never heard of Haxan. Fascinating! Thank you for opening my eyes to this world! I just ordered the Criterion copy online. What great inspiration for photos, decorations, and costumes. Plus it would really be awesome for a haunt theme! Maybe I can convince the Steampunk Haunted House guys to use this film as inspiration for 2011.

I was thinking the same thing about it being a great haunt theme...
To me, the entire video reminded me of an elaborate home haunt.
