Autumn Porch

Took a hit on cornstalks this year.  $8.00 a bunch.  Checked out Walmart and they were selling for right below 8 bucks, but with only four stalks in each bunch.  Hit up an Acme market and they were also $8.00, but it was a pretty nice bunch of stalks.

Two bunches per porch column...

Looks like a beautiful set-up Rot! I've been wanting corn stalks but I haven't gotten around to it yet :/ I'm hoping soon before they're all sold out.

Thanks!

I've never had a porch like this before. We're both so grateful to finally have something to decorate like this.

...and you decorate it so very well! The stalks look great! I like the contrast with all the green in the background.

Nice! Love that gnarly tree out yonder in pic 3. Pumpkin tree?

Yup. That's our gnarly old cherry tree.

Looking great, Rot!

I love that you're starting decorating early with your new house.

Yeah, the price of cornstalks are getting outrageous, and I like to get a lot of them now. This year I have a friend that knows somebody with a cornfield and is happy to give away his cornstalks. I told him to load up as many as he can!

Corn in general took a huge hit this year. Stalk bunches are pretty sad all over.. These look better than what we're seeing around these parts though..

God that porch is great.

You guys need some nice black wood rocking chairs out there.

That's funny. We've been saving for a pair of black rockers and just picked up some recycled plastic ones that look just like wood.
I totally fell for it when I saw them in a local store.

They're right outside the frame of some of those photos. : )

such lovely photographs. The black and white is my fave. Reminds me of Totoro.

Looks awesome!! I need to get some cornstalks as well. It looks like you have enough there...but just to throw it out there...There is a client that comes into the salon I work at who lives next to a farm. Every year she lets me know when the cornstalks are ready and I can go and cut as many as I want for free. I can always grab extra for ya! I know they can be expensive.

It's not my husbands favorite thing to do LOL but when I remind him that we're getting them all for FREE...he gets to work! =D
