And Close Beside It A Shattered Pumpkin

The last of the family photos.

These are from a Halloween Party where I think I was Mr. Uptight (but dressed as Ichabod Crane) and insisted on a series of Traditional "events," such as bobbing for apples and watching the Charlie Brown Halloween Special (seen below on that ugly awful black and white tv in an era of color television [if you zoom in, you can actually see Lucy and some other gal]).

Ichabod Crane, my brother the Skeleton, and Vincent Von Vampire

Me faking contentment.  I probably insisted that my mother capture this moment on film for posterity.

Niiccceee. Thats a pretty historically accurate costume. I like the power stance. And I would have suspected the vampire was the same kid as the pope. Same annoyed expression. I like how during the Charlie Brown staged photo scene, the vampire is asleep. Maybe its a sugar induced coma. Ha ha!

haha
you're very observant!
I was pretty flamboyant that night, if I recall (not proud of this fact).

These are rare never seen before photos. Like Clash of the Titans- Mark and remember.

These are great, even the Vamp Girl making an appearance. Any idea on how old you were? I lost two years of Halloween parties for my boys. This year was new job grind, but worried before I know it they'll not want parties and leave me behind to go egg the homeless vampires under the bridge.

Probably 10 or 11 years old there.

WC...You are so funny! Both of you are cracking me up. :D And... I think Mr. Uptight's the the wrong label...It was just the artist in you coming out...your first foray into "setting the stage" haha. I personally think it's kinda cool. : ) I'm really sad this is the last of them. It's been a real treat!

And...the guy that just bobbed the apple! Sooo funny. I am wondering if you kept in touch with any of these guys. This guys kids need to have a copy of this photo. haha

If it makes you feel any better we had apple bobbing back in the early days of the slough..lol!

ha..that actually DOES make me feel better!

And not to give false hope, but I am now thinking there are more photos from my past that aren't in actual photo albums, but, rather, stored in envelopes in a drawer in my folks' house. As I know there are photos from my "famous" Dr. Dingledong story on the blog somewhere. And there are photos from later Halloweens, my early displays, that are definitely in that drawer.

So hopefully part II will be coming at some point soon.

Sweet knickers, Rot.

People underestimate how darn hard it is to bob for apples!

Thanks! haha
And I almost wrote about Bobbing for Apples. In addition to it being difficult, it's also disgusting. As one of the kids got a mouthful of water and then spit it back into the pot. I clearly remember that moment of horror as we all groaned and made sounds of revulsion.

Not to mention the Halloween face makeup getting washed into the drink. "drink" haha
