It's A Squatch

Been watching a new show on Animal Planet... Finding Bigfoot. It's a show I love to hate. The premise is a riot. All evidence is assumed to be of or from a Bigfoot. The cast of investigators is so anxious to find Bigfoot (with the exception of the skeptic on the team) that almost everything is proof of a "Squatch" (they use this word constantly, and I love it). "You saw a Squatch!" or "It's a Squatch!"... phrases like this pepper every episode. (I've also begun to use the word at work - "Is Squatch in the office today?") The main investigator Matt Moneymaker is the heart of the problem, but I'm not sure if I want him to go, since he causes so much tension and stress and awkward moments. The rest of the cast is awesome, particularly Bobo.

I watched MonsterQuest religiously and it's a strange thing to watch a program when you KNOW nothing will ever be discovered or captured. An entire series devoted to the pursuit of nothing. One big letdown after another. So maybe that's why I dig this show so much. The researchers KNOW a Squatch is only a few yards away at all times. They tell us in certain terms how Bigfoots (plural form used often in the program) love this or hate that, how they follow migrating animals, how they love to knock twice on tree stumps, or how they twist off the legs of deer to limit their meal's escape.

I have a feeling it won't be around much longer, so try and catch an episode.

Looks like Animal Planet is having an all-day marathon of my favorite paranormal show The Haunted, leading up to the premiere of season two tonight with the episode: "Monster in the Closet."

Return Of The Haunted

Pretty cool news: Animal Planet's The Haunted will be returning with new episodes starting on April 1st.

Quite excited by that.

Cold Blood

Was fighting a man-cold this weekend and ended up watching hours and hours of Animal Planet's Fatal Attractions marathon. Fascinating series. It's a well-produced character study of individuals who call dangerous animals and reptiles their pets. And sadly, most of the cases end with both the pet owner and the pet(s) being killed.

The Haunted

Saw an episode of Animal Planet's The Haunted last night. Once again blown away by the production value and the content. And once again, creeped out by the oral history of the residents involved. This episode in particular is the scariest I've seen.

LOVE this show.

Another segment from my favorite paranormal show, The Haunted.
A common theme throughout every single episode - when a wife informs her husband she has seen or heard something incredibly unnerving and creepy and absolutely ghost-like, the husband 100% of the time dismisses it as her imagination until he himself has an experience.

What gives, gents?

My reaction: "Where did you see it? Where are the suitcases?"

The Haunted

"Mommy, you need to clean my baby. You need to clean her eyes. They're bleeding."

Spent a major portion of the holiday watching Animal Planet's The Haunted marathon. I never watched that program before and it was pure chillsville. Absolutely loved every second of it.

And the animal/pet angle is minimal. So don't be thinking this is about Fluffy seeing dead people. In fact, this program really seemed out of place on Animal Planet. Which is a good thing.
