Imagine seeing this in a store. There was a moment where I didn't want to open it. Like when you don't want to check your lottery ticket because you know it'll spoil the feeling that you JUST MIGHT be a millionaire.
Well, I opened the lid and smelled it.... and it was a strong cologne scent. Like something your uncle would wear. That uncle who creeps you out. The one nobody wants to sit next to on Christmas.

Booze Update
We bought a bunch of seasonal beers/ciders, as well as the Samuel Adams Harvest Collection.
Loved the Sam Harvest Pumpkin. Wasn't over-the-top with the sweet, and I'm not sure I would have guessed it was "Pumpkin" at all. But it was really nice, and it would have gone well with food.
Tried Ichabod Pumpkin Ale (purchased due to the name and label). It was ok. Was light on flavor though.
Had a Shipyard Pumpkinhead Ale. Definitely the sweetest so far. I recall seeing a video from the Shipyard company where a clump of vanilla ice cream was dropped into a glass of this ale...and the glass was coated with caramel. And I totally get it now. Definitely more of a stand-alone drink. A dessert ale, if there is such a thing.
Also tried the pumpkin cider below...
How could I not? Look at that Jacko Apple. I hate being negative since beer tastes are so subjective, but I had a hard time with this one. The flavor was strange and I couldn't place it at all - didn't taste like pumpkin or apple.
Looking forward to trying the other Sam Adams, and the few strange pumpkin brews we picked up at Wegmans. I'll be sure to post my faves.
Busta
Took some days off to work on the Haunt. Won't be posting as much today or tomorrow.
Here's some Halloween music though. Perhaps the only GOOD thing to come from Halloween: Resurrection.

Cemetery Witch
A leftover shot during the filming of Swamp Foetus of the Witch prop. Houses lined the entire cemetery. It was really difficult to frame them out. I didn't rig up her hands and the pumpkin since we were shooting her from behind.
I KNOW people saw this standing in the graveyard.

The Storm
She froze there, not breathing, still half-bent toward the cold fireplace, her hand still extended. The glimmer of white at the window behind the sheeting blur of rain had been--she was sure of it--a human face. There had been eyes. She was certain there had been eyes staring in at her.

Sam Adams Harvest Collection
Thanks, Autumnleaf. I wasn't aware that they put a sampler like this out each year. I'm a big fan of Samuel Adams.
Flying Witch Prop
I featured this awesome prop back in 2010 and came across it again today while hunting online for Witchy things. This is the kind of prop I'd stand and watch for hours.

Candle Shoppe
A few photos from a Candle Store at Peddler's Village.
Was surprised to see the "Happy Halloween" (licorice) scent still being sold. Probably left over from last year. The "Sleepy Hollow" scent was pretty cool...woodsy and incensy.

Fright Night Part 2
Two screen caps from this underrated film.
I love his pad.
Found a HD version on youtube if you're interested in watching the film (though don't even think about it if you haven't seen the first film). CLICK
And...the first film is right here. CLICK
Seasonal Beer
The first bottles of the Autumn beers I'll be tasting this season. Pleased with both of them, though I can't say either one is loaded with any flavors that scream "IT'S AUTUMN!"
The quest continues.
Bountiful Acres 2013
A favorite shop of ours. They didn't have the full display up yet...

The Wind Witch
THE wind that met her in the park,
Came hurrying to my side—
It ran to me, it leapt to me,
And nowhere would abide.
It whispered in my ear a word,
So sweet a word, I swear,
It smelt of honey and the kiss
It'd stolen from her hair.
Then shouted me the flowery way
Whereon she walked with dreams,
And bade me wait and watch her pass
Among the glooms and gleams.
It ran to meet her as she came
And clasped her to its breast;
It kissed her throat, her chin, her mouth,
And laughed its merriest.
Then to my side it leapt again,
And took me by surprise:
The kiss it'd stolen from her lips
It blew into my eyes.
Since then, it seems, I have grown blind
To every face but hers:
It haunts me sleeping or awake,
And is become my curse.
The spell, that kiss has laid on me,
Shall hold my eyes the same,
Until I give it back again
To lips from which it came.
