Wormwood

And the third angel sounded, and there fell a great star from heaven, burning as it were a lamp, and it fell upon the third part of the rivers, and upon the fountains of waters;
And the name of the star is called Wormwood: and the third part of the waters became wormwood; and many men died of the waters, because they were made bitter.

Thanks for posting this Durer print, Rot. Have loved his work for a long time.

We've sown the seeds of our very own nuclear apocalypse over these many years, haven't we. Don't need Four Horsemen when one crumbling nuclear reactor can do the job...

This is the way the world ends, this is the way the world ends, this is the way the world ends, not with a bang but a whimper. -T.S. Eliot

naw...don't think one nuclear plant melting down will end us.

perhaps give us some mutant sea life.

Godzilla, perhaps!

I admire your cheerful optimism.

Regarding the effects of continuing radiation release from Fukushima Daiichi I don't share it, though.

I think what is happening in Japan is horrifying. I can't believe it's happening, and I know it will have horrible effects on Japan and the world for generations.

I don't think it's going to destroy the entire world, tho.

I like to come to this blog to look at awesome Halloween ideas, and not think about the "real" world.

IMHO. Try to have an okay day.

There could all sorts of terrific Halloween images to be pulled from Revelations. The prose is creepy and the images conjured are scary as hell (no pun intended).

Reminds me of Johnny Cash's "When the Man Comes Around," or vice versa.

Strange how people will come to another person's blog and kinda sorta dictate the content.

I've been quoting Revelation for a while here. To me, it's fun and creepy, and it's like covering paranormal topics.

Well, although you may not like it, I come to your blog daily to escape- for a few moments- and immerse myself in the wonderful Fall-Halloween-Pumpkiny world you have created

I guess I made an error in commenting. I don't want to throw my opinion around like a can of red paint and splash everyone with it...just thought I could chime in.

I just don't like to think too much about "real" bad stuff when I am enjoying a few stolen moments at your blog. I am sorry I did not realize that not everyone has the same motives as I.

I could never dictate your content. I can only govern my response to it. And as my response displeases you- I shall cease.

But I will still come here each morning and wallow in Halloween goodness. Thanks!
