Rain

Notice how there are days of rain forecasted after Halloween here in Eastern PA.  Historically speaking, that usually starts to move forward a few days as the week progresses.  What a strange hobby this is.  So dependent upon the weather.
Wish I had a giant leak-proof barn to Haunt.

I going to make a "scare the rain away" totem and dance around it with a jack-o-lantern covering my head with flames shooting out the top.

Maybe it will help keep the rain at bay.

We do the photoshoot before Halloween, so at least that's sorta weatherproof.

But this stinks. I wish there was some kind of massive concussion ordinance I could fire into the atmosphere that would disperse weather patterns for about six hours. Sure there'd be collateral damage on earth, but it'd be worth it.

I take photos before Halloween too, but I also like taking them Halloween night also. Just for the extra feel of the wonderful night.

The earth is all screwed up anyway, so no harm lighting it up even more. :D

I think I left out the word "change" on that last comment.

Ah, an old barn to haunt...the ultimate dream.

under normal circumstances, I almost never check the weather...I guess that I pretty much figure it is what it is.

However, this time of year, I'm just this side of a lunatic with it. It's to the point where I periodically catch myself yelling variations of 'oh, come on!' at the forecast.

I feel silly, but keep right on doing it...

Leaky barns are more fun. Bummer

Ours has been yoyoing between no rain and nothing but rain for the past near week. I'm just preparing for not having a Halloween this year.

stinks...
I keep checking and it's different every time.
Currently all rain has been removed from the forecast.
totally TOTALLY not falling for this.

Ugh.
We have 90% now.
Fourth year in a row.
And we just came out of a four day hurricane that has everything completely saturated.

I hear that!

I live in Vancouver where it can rain for weeks at a time. Halloween is always a toss-up. It looks like this year is going to be a complete washout for us. I would love to come see your display next year!

We're in the same boat. Friday afternoon looks good for the haunt set-up and we should have no problem getting pictures at least that night, but Saturday right now looks like possible showers comes late evening. Just hope they hold off to real late or come through way earlier than expected. The kids around here will come out no matter what but it would be nice to have a dry Halloween for a change. We've had only one precipitation free Halloween in the past 5 Halloweens (2009 - 2014). Halloween 2011 was clear but it was a really cold that night (started in the 40's and then went down into the upper 30's). We keep saying the law of averages should toss us a nice warm and dry Halloween one of these years, but this year doesn't appear to be one of them. A lot of the more grandiose yard haunt decorating ideas we had hoped to some day do have been permanently scrapped due to the weather being so unpredictable. Haven't used our fog machine in years. Either too wet, windy, or both! Yes, a big old barn to haunt would be nice!
