Halloween 2022: A Video

Here's a short video of what it was like to come up for some [great] candy on Halloween night.  The audio in the video was the actual soundscape that was playing during the night.

Looks like the rain stayed away from your haunt - weather was perfect in my neighborhood. Having a crescent moon was the cherry on top!

Very cinematic looking and sounding!

Thanks!

The rain, unfortunately, didn't hold off. It started raining right as prime Trick-or-Treating hours started. And rained lightly, but steadily for the rest of the evening. Thankfully the Haunt went up the night before for the photos and videos.

Despite the rain, the trick-or-treaters still came!

I've given up counting so I'd rather ask. How many scarecrows were out there in the garden? Your workload must have been enormous this year. And the 3 builders at that. I'm more than impressed. Stunning work from you.

Rot said...

Thirteen!
with two empty posts in the back row with debris on the ground and dangling as though some scarecrows had decayed.

And thanks!!

Not counting the two by the main steps! Those aren't part of the Builders' Work. They use them as lanterns. Vultures, as a neighbor called them.
Vulture Sentinels, I guess.

Love the crows cawing in the background. It's a spooky walk up to your door. You mentioned candy - did you up your treat giving game this year??

I'm still not at King Size, but I had all the usual favorites... snickers, peanut butter cups, milky way, twix, etc.

And not a box of Dots nor a tootsie roll in sight.

As usual, the lighting was perfect. Always impressed with what you do.

Thanks! Tried to do the warm/cold thing.

I am so envious of the approach to your porch. So great to have a long "corridor" to have the TOTS walk thru with the spectacular scene at the end.

Rot said...

I am extremely grateful for that layout. It has served me really well.

Yes, the trellis archway is so cool. Like a portal…

WOW!!!!! If I stumbled upon your house as a trick-or-treater, this would have absolutely blown my MIND!!! It is a full-on haunted attraction in its own right. So immersive. Insanely great work!! I'm always amazed at how HUGE you make your front porch look. And this year with the entire yard of scarecrows, the whole scene is extended even more. This is your best display EVER!!
Love the soundtrack too. It totally enhances the visuals. Kudos!

THANK YOU, K.O.!
Smoke and mirrors haha

I really can't get over the scale of it. Yet, all of the traditional level of detail remains absolutely intact.

It's truly beautiful, and the video of the approach was a real treat to watch (repeatedly).

Everything here is just brilliant! And that lighting!.... flows so well from a cold entry to a warm and firey interior scene. Rot, do you have to save up leaves for a while before-hand? Love the crows cawing!! It all looks and feels so natural.

I start saving leaves at the start of October! Then I do some last minute gathering!
