As if you had ended up in Mr Jones' basement. All these creatures, which have been worked out down to the smallest detail, are waiting to be finally released into the big night. You almost believe you can feel it. There's just so much work and creativity that went into it. This haunt has set new standards for me personally. You and Wren have been a great team this year and can and should be damn proud of your work. Amen

Hey, I REALLY appreciate that.
And we're totally proud of this one.
It's my personal favorite display. Everything just flowed perfectly, and everyone seemed to be immersed in that atmosphere. Seemed to resonate with a lot of people. And you just can't beat scarecrows. And to have that many figures looming in the dark was such a fun thing to do and see.

If I may ask, how do you "age" the skulls that aren't covered with fabric or other materials? I considering adding a couple of skeletons to my haunt next year, and they definitely will need to be aged.

I see a lot of people using stains on plastic skeletons, but I've always preferred painting the entire skeleton/skull a flat dark brown first, and then dry brushing with a lighter tan color. I typically use a flat water acrylic color called "camel" for my exposed bones. It's like a yellowish tan color. Exhumed bone always had a yellowish look to me, so doing that light color over a dark base of brown does the trick.

Hey Tyrol, thanks for the kind words! Your seven deadly sins were so well done, especially the layers of detail - I’m taking notes!

I have to admit, if I haven’t said it already, the scarecrows this year are truly inspiring. I’m sure I could ramble on endlessly here regarding the nuances of each, but I’ll do all of us a favor and nip that diatribe in the bud. You do this stuff for awhile and eventually you think you’ve seen it all, only so many ways to scare the big black birds, clearly there are many, many more. It’s like an unbridled scarecrow catacombs. I don’t know where my future builds will go, but I promise you…The Builders, has made me rethink much of what I believed.

This, truly is, Halloween.
