The Weeping Glass

Never visited this neat shop, but it appears to be the store featured in the old Friday the 13th tv series from the 80's...  The Weeping Glass is a true Oddities & Curiosities Shoppe.

I always wanted to work in this store...

They are in the process of moving to a new location, so I wanted to feature them as I brew some of their fine hot elixirs on this weird windy snowy day.

Hope to visit the new location some day.

I remember this TV series, I watched the reruns every Friday or Saturday night. Too bad it ran for such a short time.

A few observations spring immediately to mind...to wit:

- That shop looks like an amazing must-visit sort of place that would cost me oh-so-many dollars

- Everything about the tea in the last image essentially confirms the suspicion above

- I considered 'Friday the 13th: The Series' appointment viewing in the late 80s (also feel like it deserves more love than it gets)

Friday The 13th: The Series was a favorite of ours. I recall it had some controversy as being considered too dark/violent for TV back then, but Tales From The Darkside got the same criticism at the time. By today's standards those shows were rather tame! 2009's Warehouse 13 series was obviously inspired by Friday The 13th: The Series, but took a steampunk/mystical/sci-fi approach to the artifacts, but was also rather entertaining.

Sadly, we don't have places like this in my city. There are a LOT of antique stores downtown, but they mostly have cowboy and "southwestern" artifacts, old saddles and rusty spurs and like that. Sigh...

And yeah, major fan of Warehouse 13. How many lifetimes could you spend exploring that place??
