Dead Trick

Thought of something that might be a neat prop concept. A standing prop, the height of a child, wearing a witch costume. Positioned on your porch or walkway in front of your door (but leaving enough room for the door to open). Arms straight down, head slightly slumped downward. Trick or treaters walking to your house for candy pause and wait and get a little confused by a child waiting in front of them, so they wait a few seconds too, probably thinking the little witch rang the doorbell or knocked on your door. Then they lean around and look at the face of the child whose back is turned to them - hollowed out eyes with black ooze dripping down a wrinkled rotten face.

That's awesome! I love the way you think, dude. :)

yeah, it'd be a blast watching that through a peep hole or a window in the door. the key would be getting the dummy to look absolutely real...

Man, I might have to try that one sometime... that's a great idea.

Great Idea. One prop I always wanted to do, was a mixed up large pile of bones, halloween costumes and candy bags visible through a half open front door. The sounds of chewing and burping come from inside the house.

as a girl who hung stuffed infant sleepers from my huge old oak and splattered them with crimson paint...i like the concept.

my husband did something similar to this a few years ago.
A few weeks before Halloween,he set up a scarecrow on our front porch...we had it sitting in one of the chairs on the porch so people would see it and kinda get used to seeing it. Then, on Halloween, he dressed up EXACTLY like the scarecrow...put the fake on one side of the door...and he sat on the other side of the door, with the candy bowl in his lap. Kids didn't know what to do or think...until he jumped at them, or grabbed their hands as they reached for the candy!
