I use a product by Rustoleum called WATERPROOFING FABRIC PROTECTOR. A flat spray sealer for outdoor furniture. Recommended for fabric and leather. Soaks into the mache.
Home Depot had it, but I'm having a hard time locating it now.

Heading back tomorrow for the Scarecrow Festival. Can't wait to see the Tin Man again! Hopefully the weather is nicer than Saturday.
