An animated version from 1973.
So beautifully Old School.
The kind of thing that would give smaller children nightmares.

November
THERE is wind where the rose was,
Cold rain where sweet grass was,
And clouds like sheep
Stream o'er the steep
Grey skies where the lark was.
Nought warm where your hand was,
Nought gold where your hair was,
But phantom, forlorn,
Beneath the thorn,
Your ghost where your face was.
Cold wind where your voice was,
Tears, tears where my heart was,
And ever with me,
Child, ever with me,
Silence where hope was.

James Horner's Futile Escape
A track from the ALIENS soundtrack, performed live.
Absolutely loved this.

If What You Say Is True, Then You Should Consult A Priest.
When the sound became audible again, it was no longer in the upstairs
bedroom but had moved downstairs to the boy’s bedroom. It was heard as
the sound of squeaking shoes along the bed and was heard only at night
when the boy went to bed. The squeaking sound continued for six nights,
on the sixth night scratching again was audible.

Richard Matheson (1926-2013)
"Hell House is the scariest haunted house novel ever written. It
looms over the rest the way the mountains loom over the foothills."
-- Stephen King
Rest in peace, sir.
Mountain Monsters
A new series on Destination America. Seemed packed with planted evidence, but it was a fun ride. A bunch of mountain men from Appalachian Investigators of Mysterious Sightings were hunting the Kentucky Wolf Man.
They didn't find him.

Garden Scarecrow
Built this guy this morning to stand in our pumpkins and gourds. Hopefully we have some success this year.
He's about three feet tall.
Positively Do Not Open
Lorraine Warren would have been the coolest mom. "Son, where did you get that doll?"
"From some box on the wall. Why?"

Ephemeral Folk Figures: Scarecrows, Harvest Figures, and Snowmen
Bought a used copy of this amazing book. It's packed with so many wonderful photographs of incredible scarecrows.
It's currently my favorite thing.
I'll be scanning some images in the days ahead, but here are some quick photos to give you a taste of what lies within:
