Headless

I always wondered why this guy panicked and jumped out of his fortified enclosure.  Though I can assume the Horseman was chopping at one side of it.  I would have done the same.  Though I think I would have run through the woods and not down the road, extending my drama and horror for at least five more minutes until my head was removed.

This thing was made in 1999 and the effects are insane STILL.

Such a good movie and the atmosphere was superb!

If it were made now, the forest would be completely computer generated. Probably the horseman too.

It's still one of my top 5 horror movies of all time. Johnny Depp looks like a kid compared to now, but who can blame him? Christina Ricci and Christopher Walken were perfect casting, as was Christopher Lee as the magistrate.

To help answer the question; Jonathon Masbeth had only 1 shot in his flint rifle and he used it. Now, the viewer never gets to see where...he shot or if he even hit him.
The Mid wife and her family found out first hand how secure their home was! The Hessian blasted himself right on it. Knowing this, I think Jonathon Masbeth knew there was no place to hide from the Hessian's wrath...On foot was as good as any. At least on foot he thought he had a chance.

Totally agree. Definitely in Elfman’s top three.
