It's Coming

Black cats and goblins and broomsticks and ghosts.
Covens of witches with all of their hosts.
You may think they scare me.
You’re probably right.
Black cats and goblins
On Halloween night.
Trick or treat!

September 1st, and the final countdown has begun.  Our High Holiday approaches.

That is a Topstone witch mask. I would recognize that mold anywhere. Although it doesn't have the typical colors of green and yellow.

Primo mask from Terry of Cemetery Gate Productions...picked up in the early 2000s. The mold must have been based on it.

My dad wore this mask when I was growing up. He terrorized the kids in the neighborhood.

It's such an exciting time!

Just 30 days until the first lights go out here, and between now and then, the leaves will turn, and the air will do that magical thing...it seems like we've waited for what seems like forever to get to this point, and now the days will fly by.

So true. Been hating the hot weather and wanting it gone, and now it's all gonna fly.

She's Magical..like a Witchy May Queen longing for October! But, that's just how she feels to me. LOVE the glowing red eyes & windows, so enchanting!

Another Halloween soon approaches! We've got most of the props and accessories squared away for this year's haunt, still a few loose ends to tie up in that department. We still have to buy Halloween candy and we always save buying pumpkins until around the beginning of October. Sometime between September 15th and 20th I will brave the ladder and put up the purple, green, and orange C9 LED bulb stringers on the gutters. Going all the way around our garage this year, not just our "inner courtyard", figured we needed more of a Halloween presence when approaching our house/yard coming from the east. This will be our 25th year doing a yard haunt for Halloween.

I like the sound of that!

You really nailed true old school vibes with this one!

Rot said...

You think? haha
I can officially add the hashtag #OldSchool. I feel like a person doesn't get to self-proclaim the old school vibes. You shoot for it, but must never speak of it. haha

The spread of photos on your Instagram account is sooooo damn impressive....seeing photos of all of your projects together one page really is nothing short of astounding! I know I've said it before but I still wish you would think about doing a self published coffee table book. I'm still kind of a dork that way but I do think there is something about the tactile experience from holding a book of art that you just don't get from looking at a screen. Just sayin' . I'd be standing in line to get a copy. ;)

Oh yeah....and I love the witch mask! Some of those older ones were so awesome and I think the quality of the latex was better.
