I'm starting to get the feeling 2009 will be the best year yet.

Have you ever left a prop in a field or some remote area? Maybe just visible at the right angle from a road.
Just left it and gone?

Bet that would freak people out.

Thanks so much, man.
Bean found that spot.
I made us hike through a ton of mud to the center of a pine-wooded area and took a few pics and hated them. She found that path and we knew that was just the right place for them. Two joggers jogged right through them at one point. They didn't say a word, just kept on jogging. : )

And I agree about the height. These need to be towering.

Thanks!

Actually, we spend a lot of time driving and looking for a spot for our tree ghost. To leave it forever there (but not cause a car wreck). But a quickly-constructed scarecrow made of sticks and some cloth would be even better. Up on a hill.

i keep looking at the detail...the paint, orange paper in the eyes-nose-mouth,and that style of pumpkin.....perfect!

you should of rigged up something to shoot flames out of their mouth, that would of got their attention!

If I didn't make this known before, I find limitless inspiration from your creations.

Brilliant!

So much awesome in one post. This only consolidates my need to make a pumpkin-headed scarecrow to have around the house.

This morning:
Me: Hey hon, look at Rot's Sentinels.

Steph: Holy...When we win the lottery and build our Addams Family house, we're hiring Rot and Bean to decorate.

Best...wife...ever.

I really like photo #6. One sentinel is looking towards the other as though they have conspired to do some evil deed. They are just waiting until one of them says "Now!" to spring into action.

Man, those are so evil. I was going to say those are so "nice", but that word doesn't fit those guys at all. Just when I think your work couldn't get any cooler, you go and do something like this... great job!

Man, They look like they just sprouted off the forest floor. Can you inagine that trail this fall with the full moon behind them, eyes glowing, bet that jogger would not have passed by them then. I think these gotta be your best work yet. Breath taking

I love the stories that can be imagined from your photos. Where does that trail lead? What kind of hidden place needs sentinels such as them?

WOW! Brilliant work J!
I too find inspiration from your work.. I like the fact that they are hunched over as to give someone that feeling that they are being looked down upon.

Wow, see what happens when you are out of commission for a few days? You miss the greatest news in the haunt world. These are amazing.

How do you manage to top yourself year after year? :) As always, your work is amazing and inspiring.

Cheers!

Very sinister and foreboding. Absolutely stunning. A brilliant concept & follow thru. Paint work dead on. A classic and if you cant tell I'm blown away!

Oh my god. this is amazing - I can't believe people jogged right by....I would have stopped everything, busted out my cell phone and taken stupid amounts of pictures.
