Now Playing: Breaking Through

My Dark Noir Halloween Popup Nightclub would play stuff like this.  And I'm very ready for this workday and work week to be over.

Back in the early 90's NYC had a company that owned a group of restaurants called Eerie World Entertainment. Their most famous restaurant/bar was Jekyll & Hyde Club which was more geared to the Mid West tourists. It was big, 5 floors, had animatronics and live actors who played roles as you ate your overpriced chicken tenders and pizza. But they also had 3 other cooler smaller bars. The original Jekyll & Hyde Club was in the Village, The Slaughtered Lamb Pub also in the village was based on the Old English pub in An American Werewolf in London and the best Pub they had was called Jack The Ripper Pub. That bar was incredible. Very small. They had fog always rolling on the floor. Actors with British cockney accents who were dressed as Bobbies would ask you if you have seen the Ripper anywhere. If you looked up at the ceiling there were bodies of Victorian dressed women stashed in the crawl spaces. If I never saw it for myself I would not believe it ever existed. I even had a shirt from the place. On the back it said I get ripped at Jack the Rippers Pub.

Thanks for sharing all of that and the links! You'll love this: Of all the places I have NOT been, I was at Jekyll and Hyde's in NY back then! And had the same love for it!

Nice! I too went to a Jekyll and Hyde’s in New York. Late 90’s. My one time to New York. I loved it.
