I really thought this movie was going to be scarier than it was. ;)
I can see what you’re saying. I think it has a very whimsical quality to it at points. Everything is so big and over the top. I was always a fan of the earlier more subtle stuff. The parapsychology group scenes are definitely my favorite. And I will never forget the first time I saw this. It truly terrified me.
For me - the most shocking scene was the bodies in the pool. All bobbing up in my face. Yuk.
Agreed! I always felt like I could taste that muddy corpse/pool water.
I remember when my dad built a pirate receiver and this movie played all that month on local TV. I loved it.
That's a cool memory.
