Currently Chilling In The Fridge

It's gonna be a glorious pumpkin season (assumption).

Wegmans supermarket started putting out some Pumpkin Ale.  If you don't have Wegmans in your home town, it's like the deck of the Titanic in there.  The Disney World of supermarkets.  You enter a diseased man/woman, and leave a Weggies (as an old coworker used to call himself).  It's a cult thing.

Good choice, my friend.

I'm very curious about these. Never tried it before.
Also picked up some NIGHTMARE ON EAST ELM STREET pumpkin ale.

Heard mixed reviews on that one. All the Elysian I have tried have been good! You will have to keep us posted, haha

Will do!
Worst.

I'm really hoping to get my hands on some of that Elysian Great Pumpkin Imperial ale this year...enjoy!

Thanks! So far so good. I tried Night Owl and it's definitely what I was hoping for - not too sweet at all. And nutty.
The sweet ones make me realize why I am not a pumpkin ale guy. So this is very promising.

Cant wait till the Pumpkin ales come out. In my experience, UFO, has the best flavor! The spices just burst right out. Damn shame I cant get it down here...

I'll keep an eye out. I know I've seen UFO in these parts.

We had a pumpkin ale taste test at a friends' house in Maine some years ago (home of Shipyard Brewing Co.). Blue Moon Harvest Wheat actually won. Just found out they stopped making it!

I never tried that one.
And apparently never will.

That sounds like a fun event.

Nice, I just picked up my first Pumpkin Pack of the season last week (I was a big fan last year). Definitely interested to hear your opinion on the other ones.

I'll try to do a proper review post!

There's a local wine store called Dragonfly in our town. I'm going to see if they can't get these in. They have a huge selection of beers and they always do a decent job keeping seasonal in stock.

Rot, I actually picked up Night Owl last year and rather liked it. Of course it was the ONLY seasonal brew I could find in this area. I don't even think Trader Joe's has a pumpkin brew any more. If they do, they sure aren't stocking it where I am. I've kept the labels from as many of these as I can and there is some really nice art out there. One of my favorites is Jack-O Traveler. Have you tried that one?

I did a quick search because I didn’t recall trying that beer and laughed because I apparently did try it and really loved it and all the usual suspects commented! Haha

Thanks for the heads up Rot. enjoyed this brew last year. In the midwest, the pumpkin ales have been getting harder to find and they are coming out earlier so if you dont stock up now, they will be gone by mid September.

Ha! I guess I forgot that we had discussed JOT as well. As it turned out I picked up my first six while visiting friends in Maine. I've lost count of how many beer cartons/labels have travelled cross country in my suitcase.

Yup. I STILL have no memory of even trying it!
Getting old is horrid.
