I know glittery lime green has sort of worn out it's welcome with a lot of the haunting set, but those slime green glass pumpkins are so beautiful! I like the ceramic jack o lanterns too...

So I'm curious. When you post these pics, obviously you don't walk home with everything. You pick and choose. So, for you and Bean, what makes the cut? You showed the garland in the last set of pics, and the frame in this set. Is it just a matter of "Have it. Have it. Want it. Need it."? Like if you could, you'd buy it all?Or are there specific....standards that the decor needs to hit? Because as much as I love Halloween and Halloween decorations, I cannot see myself with a green glitter cat on my porch. Even though it's cute in the store....I realize this is entirely way too thought out for a Saturday morning.lol.

I visited mine yesterday and they didn't have much out yet (working on my photo post as we speak!)...I will have to check back in a few weeks!

Looks like they have great stuff at yours!

Sara,
I usually get a feeling of "HAVE TO HAVE IT/I'LL REGRET THIS IF I DON'T BUY IT NOW."

So I spend a lot of time hunting and pecking. The garland and the ceramic pumpkin were like that.

Today we picked up that large brown ceramic pumpkin in the first shot. His tooth was missing so we got him for ten bucks. That's crazy low.

The green cat was just the most peculiar thing. Not something that I'd have in the house, but I'm sure someone would dig it. And I like to take photos of everything just to show people what's in the store. Kinda sad there's so much glitter.

I went to HomeGoods yesterday and brought home a witch. :) I absolutely love her!

I love that white pumpkin in the seventh photo! Do you remember what the material was? (Is that the ceramic pumpkin?)

There's a truly awesome giant black owl (over 2') highly detailed resin sculpture this year with painted orange eyes. The sheer scale and detail are just amazing. Price is $60, and so far, only seeing one per store come in.

MW,
That white pumpkin is the top part of a lid to a small cylinder/container that says "Boo"...we have two of them from last year. It's a plaster type resin I think. Not as strong as ceramic.

I know that some company made those little white guys years ago as just pumpkins. Fit in your palm type things. I could never find them after that.

O..M..G. Ours had very little out as of Thursday. @ Sumrtym, saw the same black owl. Awesome!! Only it had $99.99 on it instead! Sixty would have been a steal! Waiting for them to put more stuff out.

Its probably a good thing we don't have one of those stores in close proximity. I'n on a mercury glass kick right now and really want to do a black and silver mantel display. With the house painted in fall earth tones it clashes but its still pretty.

When I get home, I'm going to check the HomeGoods in my area and see if they have any of those jacko's in the pic that is 4th from the bottom.

I personally love the glitter cats, but I'd got for the silver over the lime green.

And the water globes...~swoon~!

Just got back from checking out the brand new, just opened today HomeGoods a little bit down from my house. They were packed. I saw about 2.5 aisles of Halloween stuff, looked at it for a second and then got the hell out of there because I hate people and they were getting on my anxiety disorder. This HomeGood's Halloween stuff wasn't near as amazing as yours, but I'll give them some leeway since they DID just open today and it's only August 12th. But I'm not expecting much more in the coming weeks or even next Halloween. Memphis is a terrible, terrible place.

Good lord, what is with all the glitter this year?! I'm trying to celebrate Halloween without infecting my home with craft herpes, thanks. I do love the wide array of different kinds and colours of pumpkins and jackos though- that makes me happy :)

I stopped by my local store Thursday but they weren't nearly as well stocked as yours. I'll have to try again later.

I found the blue & aqua items to be an interesting colour... the green is at least a colour you still see that time of year (Here in the Pacific NW). I kind of loved the Howdy Doody Witch. Very peculiar.

Went to our local Home Goods in Lancaster, they didn't have nearly as much....bummer, but I still picked up a sweet tin pumpkin w/ hat for 7.99!

Rot, did you go to Feeney's yet? How is their stock looking? I'm planning to hit up Bucks County stores when my folks come to visit and was wondering if Feeney's should be on the list of stores.

I agree with all the glitter comments, this has been an increasing theme in the last few years unfortunately. You see it at homegoods, cost plus, target, they all are doing the glitter thing, its really...just...gaudy.

Fourth picture from the bottom, saw that brown jack with the round eyes. Ran to my home goods, low and behold the had ONE. Its now mine, waiting patiently in the garage...thanks for the pics!

Hey! Not sure if you're into Spirit Halloween at all...but they are opening a store in the Creekview shopping Plaza in Warrington. It's where Target, Lowes and Giant are on 611. =)

Rot said...

Cool. Yeah, I like checking those out each year. I forget which one is better: Halloween Adventure or Spirit...I just remember one was pretty lame and one was really fun.

Here's a link to a video from a Spirit Halloween that is already open. It'll give you an idea of what they have this year and how they've set up the store.

I think Halloween Adventure is the one that is pretty lame...unless you hit Spirit on a bad year. Every time I've been there though it's been pretty incredible. Although...I also told you to hit the Yankee Candle Boney Bunch party this year and that was pretty lame. ;-)

Rot, I found those squished albino jack-o-lanterns at a local nursery called Roger's Gardens, utterly by accident. Some little ones on jars like you described, others independent and varying 5 to 7 inches across. I was so excited my voice strangled when I asked to borrow my mother's camera phone!
