Now Drinking: Rowhouse Spirits

Took a trip to the East Falls Farmers Market this morning seeking out Innsmouth Akavit and some Poitin (Irish moonshine).  Both are stellar.  So much flavor, and unlike anything I've ever tasted.

AND I got to meet one of my favorite artists - the incredibly talented Sam Heimer.  What?  Wuh?  I think I babbled (he designs the awesome labels).

The word "Anchovy" on that incredible label makes me a bit hesitant. How was it??

Shut the front door! How cool was that?
Did you get any art?

I would dare say that the flavor of anchovies is not even in the final product. It's a clean fresh crisp flavor. Hard to pinpoint. I was expecting a briny flavor as I LOVE anchovies, but it's way subtle.

Both the Akavit and the Poitin are super crisp tasting. Like something between a vodka and a gin. And I'm not the biggest gin guy, so it's definitely better than that description!

Oh, and Sam Heimer was there in a supporting role and just hanging out at the Rowhouse Spirits table and not selling his work. I definitely babbled.
