Can't say enough about housing candles in lanterns of the non-pumpkin variety. Seems like a sacrilegious concept, but they sure look neat in photos and add a ton of atmosphere.

And it doesn't have to cost a lot of money - I've seen neat lanterns in Walgreens for around $5.00. Old narrow jars with the labels removed would be great for tea lights. Spanish Olive jars tend to be narrow and tall.
And then there's always high-end lanterns.

It's funny how you posted this. I'm planning at least 70% of my lighting this year to be from lanterns and hurricane lamps. I've been scouring Goodwill and other second-hand stores and have made some great finds-brand new, with the tags still on!
