[Un]Occupied

It was known as the "Spook House." That it was tenanted by evil spirits, visible, audible and active, no one in all that region doubted any more than he doubted what he was told of Sundays by the traveling preacher. Its owner's opinion of the matter was unknown; he and his family had disappeared one night and no trace of them had ever been found.

A neighborhood house?

About 20 minutes away in light traffic. Beautiful area, but impossible to pull over anywhere near there. Busy road right in front of it with no real shoulder. Lots of colonial stone ruins back there too. Invisible in the spring and summer due to the foliage. I have to get back in there.

This is my pipe dream of what my house would look like on Halloween. So mysterious looking. I would have a very hard time resisting the urge to snoop around. I'm assuming it's on private property.? I can see S.F. Witch hanging around there in the brambles...totally!
I'm so envious of the ruins you guys can see just driving down the road. So Cool!

yup. Private property unfortunately. And this area is loaded with old rock quarries, so I noticed low "cliffs" of red rock behind this home. Wasn't expecting to see red rock walls way in the back. I will try to get better photos of that stuff at some point before spring hides it all again.

I think you ought to call em up and ask if they'd let you shot some photos there. Those brambles and vines are to die for! Who cares about getting a little scratched up for the sake of art. haha.

Wish I knew who owned it!

Check the public records online. I've done that once or twice to find an owner. Of course it may be hard to figure out the exact street number on the house. Sometimes the way those lots that were built on so long ago aren't numbered in a logical fashion. This image has been stuck in my head now....trying to figure how I could make a shadow box of an abandoned house now.

If anybody can pull that off, you can, Marianne!

DOOOO IIIIT.
