I can't remember what year this movie came out, but when it did, our family got to see it in the theater at Disney studio's in Burbank. My mom was working for the studios at the time, so she got passes for us all to see it there. She retired from Disney in '90, but before she did, she got the oppurtunity to see Disneyland's inner workings. She also got to wear one of the 7 dwarves costumes and go out into the park.
I'd even worked at the studio's sheetmetal shop for a few weeks before there was a massive layoff, sometime in '78 or '79.
We grew up in Burbank only 5 blocks from the studios. I also thought the movie was very cool.

Much like Raiders of the Lost Ark, I was probably too young to witness some of the more grisly moments of this film. Unlike Raiders though, I haven't re-watched this movie since my first viewing. I bet I'll have a slightly matured appreciation for it now... I'll add it to the watch list!

Definitely worth the watch... it's dated in parts and a little hoaky, but it's a solid film with great effects and a beautiful soundtrack.
